Building My Electric Guitar - Positioning Pickups
The next thing to do on this electric guitar is to locate the mounting holes for the pickup mounting rings. Since the plan is for me to build my own humbucker pickups, I just used the plastic mounting rings, and the humbucker covers. As you can see in the photo below, I slipped the gold humbucker covers into the mounting ring, and held them together with duct tape.

What I wanted was for the underside of the humbucker covers to fit inside of the pickup cavities of the body of the electric guitar.

When I had the humbucker covers centered into the pickup cavities of the guitar body, I took a nail that was just big enough to fit into the mounting holes and lightly tapped it to mark the location, as shown in the photo below:
